Drag Queen High Heel Race

A few days before Halloween, Dupont Circle holds an annual Drag Queen high heel race. My roommate Chareese loves to go to this little shindig and this year I decided to see what it was all about! The streets were full of unique costumes and very crazy men. They parade around the street and then line up and race from one end to the other in their high heels. It was a pretty crazy night. The best part was seeing them fall on their faces! :)

Mommy in DC

This fabulous lady was in town last week for a layover and I got to spend the day with her. I love my mommy and we always have so much fun when we are together. It doesn't take much to make us laugh and we always enjoy our time with one another! She even brought me some yummy fresh sourdough bread from San Francisco and my favorite airplane cookies! She's the best!!!
Posing in front of her favorite terminal...Dulles

Back to work

Love you mom! Can't wait to see you next week for Thanksgiving!

Weekend in CT

In addition to going to the baseball game in NYC, I got to hang out with the kiddos for a few days as well! Here are just a few of the fun things that we did while I was visiting. The first thing little Matthew said to me when I woke him up from his nap was, "We have funfetti cupcakes to make with you Jennah!" So that's the first thing we did! Oh how I miss my days with these children!

I wish it had a different ending

Game 6 ALCS...Angels vs. Yankees. This did not go how I had hoped, but it was still an amazing game nonetheless. When the Angels won game 5, I jumped into my car the next morning and drove up to Connecticut to go to game 6 with Paul. We had talked about going to a playoff game for the past month and with him being a huge Yankee fan and me being "somewhat" of an Angel fan (totally being sarcastic) we got our chance! It was a win win weekend for me...not a win win win though. I got to hang out with Sammie and Matthew all weekend AND see my boys play in game 6. Too bad they couldn't pull off the other win of the weekend. So sad :( After getting half way down to the stadium on Saturday night in the pouring rain, we thought it would be wise to listen to the radio or check ESPN.com to see if the game was still going? Well it had been postponed until Sunday night. Paul and I headed back home and were just going to have to wait one more day for a baseball game. Sunday night turned out to be a beautiful night for a game but not a good night for an Angel win. Even with me sporting all of my Angel gear, being a lone Angel fan in Yankee stadium and getting my picture taken for the OC Register again, couldn't help light up the Halo back home. I love the game of baseball enough to know what an unbelievable game this was to be at. The Yankees clinching the pennant their inaugural season in their new stadium. My boys hit the showers and ended their season that night. Please April, hurry up and get here...I need Angel baseball back in my life!

Until next season....

Cristy visits DC

Two weeks ago one of my best friends, of over 22 years, came to visit me from Idaho. Cristy and I grew up living next door to each other in Glendora for 11 years and have always stayed close, ever since her family up and moved to Coeur D' Alene when we were in High School. It was so much fun to have her out here in DC to see my new house and my new neighborhood! She came to visit me in Connecticut a couple of years ago and we spent a lot of time in NYC. Well, now she's wondering where I will be moving next? It's only because she wants to come visit and experience another city! I think I'll be staying put here in DC...at least for a little while! :)

The weekend started off with a tour of the Capitol that she was able to set up through her Congressman. This was very cool because I had never been on a tour.

The Football Incident

A few weeks ago I was in my backyard playing football with some friends when the football bounced into our neighbors yard. I decided to hop the fence and get the football back for the boys. Well this didn't turn out how I expected. Just as I jumped down onto a chair on the other side, it BROKE!! It was one of the funniest things that has happened to me in a long long time. With all the commotion going on, I jumped the wall to get out of there as fast as I could and forgot to grab the football of all things. Later on that night I decided to go back over the fence and get the football back and to leave a note on the chair for our neighbors apologizing. Of course Millie and I had to document the moment with a few pictures! I just wish we would have gotten the whole thing on video...that's how funny it was!

Labor Day in Connecticut

Labor Day weekend I headed up to Connecticut to see the Feeny's for the first time since I moved in July. It was a long overdue trip and we had so much fun with non stop activities. From the time I arrived to the minute I left we didn't stop. We went to the pool, fair, zoo, movies, parks, dinners, lunches and just hung out at the house. I loved seeing the babies and just holding them for four days, although we didn't stop long enough for me to really even hold them. We did find some time to snuggle while watching movies. Sammie also got her BIG big girl bed (finally) and I was lucky enough to try out the trundle for one night! Lucky Me!!! I had so much fun with the Feeny's and I can't wait until the next visit. It needs to get on the calendar pronto!

I miss these Kiddos soooo much!

Road Trip USA Aug 2009

A month ago I took the road trip of all road trips! My parents and I drove from Glendora California all the way to Arlington Virginia! With my move to Washington DC I needed a car, so we drove cross country and made it a trip of a life time. There were a few things to accomplish while on this trip but first and foremost was to see as many baseball games and stadiums as we could along the way! I feel as if we were very successful. We saw 3 major league baseball games and some of the prettiest country out there. It was unbelievable driving down through the Rockies and into the flat plains of Kansas. Crossing over the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers and many other ones as well. All the corn fields...why do we have so much corn out there? Living out of a suitcase for a week and having the car packed to a science each and every time we hit the road again. We mastered that system pretty quickly. The best part of the entire trip (surprising to most who are going to hear me say this), was not the baseball games, it was spending the week with my best friends, my parents! As you all know I love my camera...sometimes a little too much! There are a lot of pictures....WARNING...A LOT! You really can't blame me for not warning you!

And we're off!!!

Drove through 15 states, none of which I actually did any of the driving through. I successfully sat in the backseat the entire trip. The digital camera took 670 pictures...most of which were of me in the backseat! We drove over 3000 miles through some of the prettiest country! This was the trip of a lifetime and everyone should drive cross country at some point!

My Best Friend's Wedding!

Last month one of my best friends got married to the love of her life. It was so much fun to be apart of her wonderful wedding celebration and stand up there by her side as her maid of honor. Jenn and I have been friends since we were 14 years old(just realized that's half my life!!) She was such a gorgeous bride. It was such a special day for her and her family!

I always love meeting up with these girls when I'm home in California. We lived next door to each other for 2 years while we were all going to BYU and I miss them like crazy! It was so fun to meet baby Andi and see how much Maia has grown. I love those little girls and their Mommies! Oh and even their Aunt Amy!! I can't wait until I can see them all at Christmas time.

Dodger Blue

Last week I was meeting my favorite set of sisters for lunch in Irvine and Laura called me before lunch and asked if I would like 4 tickets to the Dodger game? She knows I'm a huge Angels fan and that I don't like the Dodgers, but baseball is baseball and I love baseball! So I was a Brewers fan for the night. I went with my parents and took my little nephew Marshall. Marshall heard I had tickets and carried his glove and ball around for the next 24 hours. He was on a mission to get his ball signed by any player but it didn't happen. He walked away with a Dodgers bat that his Aunt Jennah couldn't resist buying for him! :)
